Today is the last day of 2014 and what a year it was! It was full of ups and downs, self-discovery and life changing events. Most of all I had exceptionally good-looking diary pictured below :)

  • I regained my self-esteem which helped me to find a new job
  • I quit my old job of 6 years that was going nowhere and was ruining me financially as I was forced to take a lot of unpaid leave and reduce my hours. However I miss my old clients a lot.
  • Got a new part-time job to supplement my income and got offered to go full-time 3 months later.
  • Went from working part-time to working full-time.
  • Went to US for 2 weeks in November.
  • Turned 30.

Looking back my goals were mainly financial such as getting rid of debts and having savings. I had three credit cards and one of them was particularly bad. I did a balance transfer to a 0% for 14 months credit card and paid the other two off. Now I have only 1/3 of the original debt remaining and planning to pay it all off by the end of the offer period. I also started a savings account and planning to use those savings for my next holiday.

One of the ongoing and very common objectives was to eat healthy, exercise and maintain weight. I must say I have been up and down in that department but overall satisfied with my accomplishments. Going full-time meant I have less time to exercise and get more tired overall but I don't drive to work any more and rely on public transport which means more walking. I've lost 3-4 kgs around May-June mainly due to stress and being sick but managed to gain it back after US and party season.

My aspirations for 2015:
  • Practice positive self-talk and be aware of negative thoughts, unjustified assumptions and conclusions. Appreciate what you have and work on aspects you wish to change.
  • Get rid of things you don't need or like.
  • Limit contact with people who bring you down or waste your time. Spend that time instead on quality friends, me-time and family.
  • Continue eating healthy and exercising regularly, aim to make 80% of the meals.
  • Smash credit card debt and work on reducing mortgage, my aim is to pay off our place within 3-5 years.
  • Explore! Visit new countries, cities or be a tourist in your own back yard.
  • Keep my unit looking nice - get rid of clutter, keep it clean and replace old and ugly bit.
  • Appreciate what you have :)

USA beauty haul part 2

One of the best finds in Sephora was this mascara set which had 9 trial-sized and 1 full size of their top selling mascaras (Urban Decay, YSL, Sephora, Lancome, Kat Von D, Boxom, Benefit, Josie Marant, Shashbox, Clinique plus Sephora eye make-up remover). It was around AUD$50 which is a good value for the amount of product you get. I love that it lets you try all these different products before splurging on the best one. I've only tried Benefit's They are real and didn't like it that much.

My trip wouldn't be complete without EOS lip balms. I've tried strawberry one before and really liked it so I've collected all the flavours I could find - strawberry sorbet, honeysuckle honeydew, sweet mint, pomegranate raspberry, lemon drop and summer fruit.

...and given that nail polishes are about 1/2 price of what we pay here made me come back with few of them. I got OPI in ski slope sweetie which is a sheer white polish with gold glassy shimmer and three Essie in Cocktail and Coconuts (nude beige with silver micro-shimmer), Bikini so Teeny (bright sky blue with silver micro-shimmer) and On a Silver Platter (various sized glitter in gold, blue and prism)

USA beauty haul...part 1

Two weeks ago I returned from my long-anticipated USA trip. I went there to celebrate my 30th Birthday and really enjoyed my trip. It made me see certain things in different light and learn to appreciate what I already have. Deep and meaningful thoughts aside I managed to bring quite a collection of beauty products that were either unavailable in Australia or are way way cheaper in US which was frequently encountered.

After trying a small sample of Midnight Recovery from Kiehl's I was set on getting a full-size bottle. I managed to nab bigger 50 ml size plus got lots of generous samples as well.
Sephora was full of weird and wonderful beauty tools so I've picked up soft silicone cleansing pad and super soft facial brush. They both do an amazing job at giving my skin an extra cleanse which being very gentle.

Suncare range was equally as impressive, I even saw SPF 100 sunscreen. I am very picky with sunscreen and dislike the majority of sunscreens sold over here. I managed to find Hawaiian Tropic SPF 30 sunscreen that not only smells amazing (coconut and cocoa) but also feels like a regular light moisturiser. L'Occitane there has this SPF 15 body oil that felt really good on my skin and smelled amazing, so it came home with me too.

Haircare is often bulky and hard to transport so only got this Bumble and Bumble thickening hairspray and Aussie moisturising treatment. Aussie brand seems to be very popular over there and doesn't cost much, shame we don't have it here.

As a self-proclaimed perfume collector I was expecting to return with a suitcase full of fragrance...but instead only got two gift sets. I am actually quite pleased about it because I've spend under $50 on these two sets.
Kiehl's set has four 10 ml sprays in it, which are perfect for my handbag and travelling. I love that Kiehl's has the actual oils and extracts in their perfume range and they are well-blended and smell quite natural.
Orange Flower & Lychee pretty fruity floral scent with prominent lychee note and just enough sweetness.
Fig Leaf & Sage is a green aromatic unisex scent, it won't get many complements but I find it very calming...I imagine wearing it on lazy Sunday...
Vanilla & Cedarwood I love this one! It reminds me of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. The sweetness of vanilla is nicely balanced by woody notes making it very sophisticated. It has a very good lasting power too.
Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit is an uplifting and inoffensive scent, will be great for hot weather.

I also got this gorgeous L'Artisan set from Sephora for just $20. It has 10 2 ml samples of their most popular scents.
- Batucada
- Caligna
- Fou D'Absinthe
- La Chasse Aux Papillons
- L'eau D'Ambre Extreme
- Mure Et Musc Extreme
- Nuit De Tuberuse
- Premier Figuier
- Seville A L'Aube
- Timbuktu

I might do a detailed review in L'Artisans once i get to sample them properly.

...part 2 is coming soon :)

June-Sept '14 empties

It took me good 3 weeks to finish this post. I started a new job couple of weeks ago and I work more hours that before plus social life is getting busy so as you imagine I haven't got much time left for blogging.

Another lot of products has been emptied and some thrown away...

Here is what I've used up in the last couple of months

1. REDKEN Blonde Glam treatment

My overall impression - Colour-depositing treatment with gorgeous scent. It neutralized brassy tones in my highlighted hair and makes it very shiny and soft
Would I buy it again? - Yes, I think it was my 3-4 bottle of this stuff

2. Billie Goat Milk and Honey soap

My overall impression - yummy scented and very moisturising soap that helped my skin when it was extra sensitive. It is probably the nicest "sensitive skin safe" product I managed to find.
Would I buy it again? - Yes, if I have to. It only lasted me couple of weeks (I usually get 2+ months from my shower gels).

3. Billie Goat Hand and Body wash

My overall impression - Very gentle product that still can cleanse my skin well. Was very useful when my skin had a bit of a freakout.
Would I buy it again? - Even though it lasted me a lot longer than the soap above I admit I was struggling using unscented product...I usually look forward to lathering myself in fragrant foam but this one just didn't provide me with that pleasurable experience.

4. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery concentrate

My overall impression - I managed to get a sample from Kiehl's counter given how easily I break out and trialed it during 10 days. I must say it is the best facial oil I've used so far. It absorbed easily, had really nice scent and most importantly didn't cause irritation or breakouts. I am planning to get my hands on a bottle when I go to US in November.
Would I buy it again? - YES!

5. L'Occitane Amande Tonic Body Oil

My overall impression - Gorgeously-scented body oil that absorbs easily and gives just the right amount of sheen.
Would I buy it again? - I would think twice before paying full-price again (it was around $50) as you can get similar products for a lot less. But having said that you go get a high-quality product so perhaps a generous GWP or special offer might entice me to get it again.

6. Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo (travel size)
My overall impression - Had very fine particles and did what other dry shampoos did - revived my oily hair and gave it volume. It smelled very nice at first but soon it became too much and I had to leave the bathroom.
Woul I buy it again? - No! I prefer my good old Klorane which has very mild scent and doesn't suffocate me.

7. L'Occitane Conditioner for dry and damaged hair

My overall impression - very light and pleasantly scented conditioner (smells like herbs) that complements their shampoo that I really like. It suppose to have lots of natural ingredients.
Would I buy it again? - No. Even though light texture suited my fine hair well it wasn't moisturising enough and my hair became very dry and brittle by the end of 500 ml bottle.

8. EOS Strawberry lip balm

My overall impression - I love the packaging! It is very easy to find it in my hand bag and apply it on my lips. The texture, scent and moisturising properties can't be faulted too!
Would I buy it again? - Yes! I love this lip balm, it is light but leaves my lips nicely moisturised. I am keen to try other flavors too!

9. Revlon Colourstay Aqua finishing powder

My overall impression - Lightweight and transparent finishing power that does exactly what it supposed to do - sets make-up and adds slight matte finish. It has very minimal concealing properties so it is good for natural look. Had refreshing cool feeling at the start but then it disappeared.
Would I buy it again? - It was a good product for the price but I prefer another finishing powder.

10. L'occitane Shea hand cream

My overall impression - One of the best hand creams out there! Good moisturising properties but no greasy feel!
Would I buy it again? - Yes! I have several miniatures floating around my drawers and hand bags. It is a great product.

David Jones Delux Tote Spring '14

Its that time of the year when David Jones releases their semi-annual Delux Sampler Tote along with Beauty Book loaded with lots of specials. I am a sucker for these totes and I get them almost every time it comes out. I found lots of good products through sampling the content and it gives me a good supply of travel and gym-bag friendly skincare.

I was particularly impressed by Spring '14 edition. I can see myself using 85% of its content. I am particularly looking forward to Pear and Lime candle and Laura Mercier Primer. I also adore the Sydney themed canvas tote which probably will become my new compact gym bag.

In my tote I got:

1. KORA Organics Sample pack with body lotion, body wash and day and night cream. So far I tried only face mask from Ms Kerr range and really liked it so I am very keen to try other products. I am taking all my sachets of body washes, creams, shampoos etc. to my upcoming US trip as they take little or no space compared to mini bottles.

2. Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena and Lavender hand cream 25 g. Their hand creams are not as moisturising as L'Occitane ones but I still enjoy using them. I like how packaging got upgraded from metal tubes which can leak in your handbag to plastic ones. This hand cream smells very good - green, fresh and spring-like.

3. Philosophy Purity 3-in-1 cleanser 30 ml. I assume it suppose to replace cleanser, toner and moisturiser? Ken to try it though, particularly on the days when I feel like going to bed asap.

4. People for Plants Cleanser & Make-up remover 30 ml. Supposed to be all natural and organic etc. etc. but it can't be used to remove eye make-up...a bit of a letdown as I prefer all-in-one make-up removers.

5. Molton Brown Orange & Bergamot body wash 30 ml. Another gorgeously scented product from Molton Brown, I like receiving their samples however I hesitate to pay their RRP for full-sized products.

6 + 7. David Jones  Vitamin E day and night cream... My skin is very picky when it comes to skincare and these have mineral oil listed as second ingredients so I won't even bother with them.

8. Blinc  mascara. Supposed to form tubes around lashes and give them length and volume without smudging etc. Comes in very tiny 0.7 g tube.

9. Laura Mercier foundation primer 14.7 ml. This feels like a cream primer as opposed to silicone-based mattifying primer. I applied a bit in the back of my hand and it absorbed easy and made my skin smooth and like! I should get quite a lot of use from this small tube.

10. Kosmea  radiance 24/7 youth boost oil 3 g. Keen to try it but it seems to be a combination of various oils, hopefully this product will sink into my skin quickly.

11.  O.P.I mini tinted top coat. I haven't seen this product before so I was very keen to try it. It is basically a purple-tones very sheep jelly top coat that adds purple tone to your existing polish and makes the very very shiny. I am keen to add it to my grey, beige, pink and blue polishes.

12. Cicra Home Pear & Lime candle 60 g.  Supposed to represent smells fresh and fruity. I am in love with the scent. I find that citrus-scented home products neutralize odours the best plus the create an illusion of a cleaner house ;)

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation review

Not that long ago Strawberrynet had Lancome Teint Miracle foundation on sale for just $30 (usually they  plus they had my shade (for ref. MAC NC25, Chanel 02, medium fair) so I decided to blind buy it. It promised bare skin perfection and illuminating effect.

It comes in my favorite type of bottle - a pump bottle. As you can see straight away it has some super fine shimmer to it.
Texture is quite liquid (apparently it has a high concentration of water) and very easy to blend. It gives moderate coverage that can be increased if desired. It provides natural sheer glowy finish.
The shade as you can see is quite yellow-based and not suitable for a very fair skin (it supposed to be one of the lightest) but I prefer my foundations to be more yellow than pink as it gives my complexion a nice glow.
It feels very light on skin and glides easily, you can quickly apply it with hands and set it with a bit of powder for a fast out-in-5 minutes make-up. It has very pleasant scent, like flowers and peaches and I am a huge fan of it. It claims to stay on the skin for 12 hours but I wouldn't call it long lasting...certainly wouldn't last the whole work day on me. I prefer to use it on the weekend or if I have to re-do my make-up at night.

July 2014 Bellabox

I rarely get a day off on Thursday but I was lucky enough to get today off. Sometimes I really need to stay at home by-myself...doing whatever I want, listening to favorite embarrassing music and watching TV shows. Today I also got not one but three parcels in the mail and one of them was July Bellabox.

It certainly wasn't as impressive as last lot but I will still use the majority of the products.
The these was American Beauty but I must admit it didn't translate into the content of the box.
So here is what I got

1. Urban Rituelle Island Citrus Body Scrub 100 ml- value $14.95

I was relieved to see that I scored a body scrub instead of body cream (I have more that enough to last me for ages). It smells like citrus and coconuts and has medium sized salt-like granules. It also contains coconut oil so it will be great for winter but a no-no before fake tanning as oils can affect the application.

2. ModelCo Black Eye Pencil - value $18.00
I am not a big fan of Modelco...I don't think their products are that great and not they are manufacturing things in PRC (not that I am against it but I believe they were recognized as an Australian brand and they should have kept their manufacturing here). The only good thing I can say about this eye pencil is it had a sharpener built into a lid.

3. Anastasia Lash Genius Clean Waterproof Topcoat 2 g - value $16
Probably the star product of this box. Anastasia has a great reputations for their brow and lash products. I don't have a waterproof mascara because I don't have a great need to wear one. I love that you can still use your favorite mascara with this product. This small tube should should be very handy when I need an extra fix on a windy day or extra hot day.

4. DB Lip Butter - value $4.99
It smells very similar to The Body Shop Coconut lip butter I used to have ages ago...not bad for a cheapo brand :)
5. Yu-Be Moistirusing Skin Cream - value $1.60
To me it is a cross between rich cream and Carmex lip balm. You supposed to use it on areas that need intensive moisturising. I used it on my lips and dry patch on my index finger and it indeed felt very comforting. I doubt I will be forking out $35 for it as my old and trusted Pawpaw ointment does the same job.

I think I have enough samples to last me a while so I've unsubscribed from BB for now...

June 2014 BellaBox

I haven't received any beauty boxes for quite sometime so I decided to sign up for one this month because they had really good promo on FB ($10 inc. postage)

These boxes can be hit and miss but this one is definitely impressive

It came with InStyle magazine worth $9.95 which is a nice bonus and it gives me a good excuse to have a bath and detox my brain.

1. Herbal Essences Naked Shine Shampoo and Conditioner - value $2
Apparently silicone and paraben free plus they have nice neutral smell...I don't usually use supermarket shampoos but these will be great for my gym bag.

2. Kora Organics Hydrating Mask - value $49.95
I was stoked to receive this famous full-sized product. I currently don't have a moisturizing face mask and my skin is on the dry side so it definitely arrived at a right time.

3. Mary Kay at play eye trio - value $18.00
Looks nice but I don't often wear colours like these so will be giving it away.

4. L'Oreal Base Magique Primer - value $10
Makes skin feel smooth and look matte...will be taking this small handy tube with me o'seas.

5. Grown Alchemist Vanilla and Orange peel Hand Cream- value $7.50
I already have huge 500ml bottle of this hand cream. It is very nice and all natural but absorbing properties do not equal moisturizing properties (tends to sit on my skin and not as hydrating as others).

plus a small satchel of Nutrimetics Instant radiance balm...hopefully it won't break me out like Clarins one...

Overall it is a great value box (over $85) and majority of products will be used by me.

Today I received...a parcel from Strawberrynet

I love Strawberrynet and I've been shopping there for nearly 10 years and never had any issues. I like getting my hair products there as they are often on special and you get a salon-quality product for supermarket price.

My shampoo supplies are getting low. So this time I got Sebastian Color Ignite shampoo for blonde and multi-tonal hair (I have blonde highlight and lowlights). It received positive reviews on makeupalley plus SN had it for just $23 for huge 1L bottle. I was expecting purple shampoo but this product is actually milky white. It smells very neutral too which I like :)

Couldn't resist another Jack Black lip balm in Grapefruit and Ginger! I already have Lemon and Camomile and absolutely love how it instantly sinks into my lips without being heavy or sticky yet it is very moisturising. Jack Black skincare is designed for guys so these lip balms won't leave your lips shiny.

As a bonus I received Cath Kidson Cherry Blossom hand cream. I already have lots of them (mind you I used them at least 4-5 times per day) so it is not something I would buy but it was still nice to get one as surprise. I actually really like it as it feels very moisturising but not greasy or heavy. It has very soft sweet floral scent that I quite enjoy.

Current winter favourites

It got cooler, the days got shorter, clothes got darker and longer and my hair and skin got drier. There are few things at the moment that I tend to reach for the most. So here are mine mild Australian winter favourites

Tokyo Milk Lip Elixir in Dead Sexy

It comes in big 20 g tin container with nice dark antique design. The texture of this lip balm is thick and waxy and it does very smooth on my lips and relieves discomfort immediately. However my favourite part if the scent which includes the notes of Ebony Wood, Warm Vanilla, Citrus Peel, Rosewater! It taste a bit like jasmine tea and has slight sweetness to it. I love using it and getting close to hitting the pan already. It is not the most handbag-friendly packaging therefore it lives in my desk drawer.

 Kerastase Elixir Ultime

I scored this hair oil as a freebie from Oscar Oscar when they have a Kerastase promotion. My hairdresser advised me to use colour-free hair oil as my beloved Morrocanoil is too yellow and if used frequently will discolour my highlighted hair. I switched to Kerastase as it is clear and actually been noticing improvement in my hair condition. It absorbs well, comes in a pump bottle and you need a tiny bit to go a long way. It smells very nice too, sort of like rum and coconuts to me :)

L'Occitane Amande Tonic Body Oil

I prefer using body oils to body butters and lotions as they seems to absorb better and don't leave unpleasant film on my skin. L'Occitane Amande body oil is one of my all time favourites. It doesn't come cheap but it lasts and lasts. It absorbs quickly and fully, gives my skin nice subtle sheen and leaves behind the most gorgeous almond scent. I also love pump bottle as it is easy to use and makes it a bit more hygienic.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Serum

My skin is prone to breakouts so I always have to test products before I commit to them. I received a small Midnight recovery sample 10 days ago and been using it daily (I was amazed how little you actually need). My skin improved a lot and I love this product's scent and texture. It is supposed to be made from 99% natural oils and at first looks like another facial oil...but once applied it absorbs very quickly leaving skin velvety and hydrated with no shine or greasy feel I've experienced with similar products. Once the sample is gone I will buy a full size bottle!

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

I have several small tubes of this hand creams floating around my handbags and drawers. My hands can get very very dry so this product provides instant relief with no greasy after-feel. The scent is very subtle and neutral, so it doesn't bother me at all.

Narcisso Rodriguez for Her EDT

I fell in love with this perfume in late 2006 when I went on my first trip back to Europe. I only had a miniature bottle but I loved wearing it so much! I remember taking my coat off and getting a trail of this scent...I couldn't afford a big bottle back then because I was a uni student, then it became way too popular and copied (Lovely is a dupe but it doesn't play the same magic on my skin as this one). I forgot about it as I already possess a lot of various perfumes but then I saw in on sale for just $35 for 30 ml bottle at Discount Chemist. I immediately got it and to my delight they haven't changed the formula! To my nose it is a soft musk scent with orange flower and osmanthus, as it dries down I can detect licorice and vetiver. It lasts a long time too despite it being EDT (they do have EDP version too but it smells very different on me!)

When I wear it I feel more polished and dressed up but sexy at the same time. I love the simple black bottle too. I just wish it wasn't so popular so I could declare it as my signature scent :)

Recent Empties...

Another lot of 10 beauty related items was finished by me since February plus I threw away a huge bag of expired and old make-up and skincare. I have been good and haven't really purchased anything apart from perfume.

1. L'Occitane Essence Sublime

My overall opinion - Pleasant serum with semi-matte finish and gorgeous subtle floral scent that instantly absorbed into my skin and make it velvety and soft. It came in my glass pump bottle and I used it very quickly (mainly as a make-up base).

Would I buy it again?- Yes, I was very impressed and it suits my skin well.

2. Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation

My overall opinion - Creamy foundation with medium coverage and natural radiant finish.

Would I buy it again?-Not sure. While I like the finish, texture and how it felt on my skin the lasting power wasn't that great.

3. Vichy Normaderm Micellar Water

My overall opinion -I remember when I first used it I was surprised how much make-up and impurities it picked up without being too oily or drying. It is scent and colour free but is very effective at cleansing my
skin after make-up removal. I used it as a toner. I believe it also helped to clear-up my skin.

Would I buy it again?-Not sure as this brand can be hard to get in Australia

 4. Clarins Tonic body Treatment Oil

My overall opinion -I love this product! I think it helps with fluid retention and leaved my skin well-hydrated without greasy feeling. At first it has very strong herbal scent (geranium and rosemary primarily) but it fades after few minutes. I also love taking it with me when I travel.

Would I buy it again?-Yes, it is on expensive side but it works.

 5. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

My overall opinion - I had Lash Accelerator mascara before and remember liking the older version better. It comes with rubber brush and seems to do a fair job at giving my lashes length and volume but I can't say it is exceptional. I like the deep black colour of this mascara and it lasts well all day.

Would I buy it again? - Possibly, it is a good value for money product.

 6. L'Occitane Delicious Hands Cream

My overall opinion - It smells like heaven, moisturises my hands exceptionally well and absorbs fully.

Would I buy it again?- Yes, if I can get it again. Unfortunately it only comes in small tubes.

7. Redken Extreme Shampoo

My overall opinion - I've been using this product on/off for 10 years and I believe it saved my hair on several occasions. It is a protein-based shampoo and I would use it 1-2 week, leaving it in my hair for couple of minutes. It doesn't make my hair feel super nice but I definitely noticed less breakage when I use it.

Would I buy it again?- Yes!

8. Bioderma Micellar Solution

My overall opinion - Similar to Vichy but I think slightly less effective. It still does a good job at removing make-up and impunities left after cleansing.

Would I buy it again?- Yes, if I can pick it up on sale...if not I am keep to try cheaper brands like Garnier or L'oreal.

 9. Grown  Rosehip and Camelia Seed Facial Serum

My overall opinion - I do like using face oils even though I have combination skin. This one is probably the least favourite so far. It felt very heavy on my skin and took ages to absorb. I ended up using it mainly on my chest and neck as it had tendency to worsen my breakouts.

Would I buy it again?- No, there are better facial oils and serums out there....for me anyway.

10. Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser

My overall opinion - A tiny drop of this product will create a lot of foam and remove most of my make-up. It transforms into creamy and rich leather and doesn't dry out my skin.

Would I buy it again?- Already have, it became my favourite foaming cleanser.

I had my Tragus pierced today!

It is something I wanted to do for few week now. I always liked the look of multiple earrings and even pierced a second hole in my ear when I was 11 (which then I took out and it eventually healed). Tragus piercing to me looked very appealing but painful. However after speaking to few people who had it done I realised it doesn't seem to be as bad.

Today I summoned my courage and called Cosmetics Plus at Carindale. They told me to come in as Fridays are usually not very busy. I've applied plenty of EMLA numbing cream on the area 30 min before (however I was told it is best to apply it 45 to 60 min prior). The whole process took 10 minutes and set me back $35 including the earring.

The girl who did my piercing was very nice and friendly. She first marked the spot with a marker pen and asked if I was happy with the placement, I've decided that I wanted it a bit lower hence why you can see a bit of ink residue above the piercing. Then she disinfected the area and asked me to lie down. I could feel a lot of pressure on my ear possibly from being held with forceps of some sort, then I felt sharp pinching pain (not bad at all, 3-4/10) and pressure from the earring being inserted.

There was no bleeding, redness or swelling...I left with a big smile :) It has been 5 hours since I had it done and I could feel just the occasional mild dull ache. I have to wait for 6-8 weeks before I could replace the original earring  and I am planning to put a small diamond stud there.

I also had belly button pierced which was done 14 years ago. I had it done by GP and had local anaesthetic injected so it didn't hurt at all. I am so used to it now that I feel weird without it.

My recent purchases

Yes, I know...I've been missing :) Life suddenly got really busy and had some unexpected twists and turns...
The change in weather called for some wardrobe updates but my hours at work have been reduced so I could only afford a handful of items.

Shopbop had 25% off sale recently so I got my hands on...

BB Dakota Fleming Ponte Dress...RRP$84, paid $44.10
I was lacking a good fitted black dress in my wardrobe and this one was a great find. It is made from thick material so it is very very flattering yet sexy and figure hugging.

Club Monaco Ana Sweater...RRP$160, paid$60
I had this sweater for 3 weeks and already wore it at least 5 times. It is made from a quality blend and feels soft and warm

I currently have only one pair of work shoes so I needed more but couldn't find anything I liked. I have to wear fully enclosed shoes to work for H&S reasons. I've been in the industry for over 10 years now and let me tell you that there has been any improvement in shoe range or styles. I am constantly face with same old Hush Puppies, Diana Ferrari, Sandler range at Myer and David Jones that is not very visually pleasing, nor wallet-friendly. I try to get them now from Mimco and Witchery. They tend to be more fashion-forward, comfortable and, if purchase on sale, more affordable.

Mimco Go Brogue Midi...RRP$229.95, paid$74.50
Mimco outlet often has 50% off their last pairs so I was very happy to find these brogues for 1/2 of already reduced price in my size. They are super comfortable and small heals means I can now wear some longer pants to work without having them altered.

While I was there I couldn't resist these summer wedges that I have tried on few months earlier but didn't want to pay $100+ for...

Mimco Fibonacci Wedges...RRP$249, paid$34.50
My waiting paid off :) They might have to sit in my closet for couple of months but come spring summer these gorgeous wedges will get lots of wear with shorts and dresses.
