Project 10 pan no.2...part 1

Yay, I finished another 10 items from my huge skincare, hair care and make-up range. It feels like I am getting closer to having a manageable collection. So in about 8 weeks I finished 10 items, some were full size, some generous trial size.

1. Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion  (Full Size 250 ml)
My overall impression- Nivea makes great low-cost skincare products. They are not the best out there but they are the best in their category. This body lotion moisturised well and had pleasant typical Nivea scent. On the downside it did leave flight film on my skin, scent was a bit strong and it wasn't as "luxurious" as some more expensive body lotions.
Would I buy it again? - Maybe, particularly if I need to get inexpensive body moisturiser that's available from almost any chemist and supermarket

2. Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleaser (Full Size)
My overall impression - This is my favourite foaming cleanser. I've tried and tested various other cleansers but I keep coming back to this one. It removes make-up like no other, doesn't dry out my skin and leaves it nice and clean. You only need a small amount and it will develop into rich foam (pea size is usually enough for my entire face).
Would I buy it again? - Yes, yes yes!

3. Clinique Water Therapy Hand Cream (Trial Size 25 ml)
My overall impression - very pleasant unscented hand cream. It felt nice on my skin and didn't leave oily or sticky residue. However it wasn't moisturising enough when my hands were really dry. This hand cream will be perfect for people who don't like or can't use scented varieties.
Would I buy it again? - only if I'll need unscented hand cream. I prefer slightly scented ones because they are a bit more "interesting"

4. Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Hand Therapy (trial size 25 ml)
My overall impression - gorgeous coriander, lemon and honey scented hand cream. Feels very "luxurious" on my skin and moisturised it well. It didn't leave residue and the scent wasn't too strong after application. It came in metal tube so I managed to squeeze out every last bit of it. I went through few hand creams this winter!
Would I buy it again? - Yes, it was gorgeous!

5. Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara (Trial Size)

My overall impression - wow, I didn't expect this mascara to be this good! I was working through my sample stash of mascara and picked this one randomly. It made my lashes longer and fuller that any other mascara I've used recently. This is me wearing it :)
Would I buy it again? - Yes, I'll definitely get it once I go through my existing stash!

Lapurete Skincare

I was browsing skincare at my local Terry White Chemist few months ago while waiting for my script. I came across a new skincare range called Lapurete. Very cool pump bottle grabbed my attention and I tested their night cream on the back of my hand. Oh my...it smelled so good (subtle rose + floral scent), it felt even better. However I already had a night cream so I had to wait until it is gone.

This range is marketed as anti-aging and supposed to be "Nature's Botox Alternative". I don't normally use anti-aging products because they are too rich for me and usually break me out (combination skin). I also have no major issues with wrinkles but would like to use something for prevention as I am in my mid-to-late 20's. This product seemed to have lots of natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals like parabens and petrochemicals.
It is described by Lapurete as:
"Minimises the appearance of: Dry skin, sagging skin, skin roughness, dull complexion, expression lines.

Skin naturally becomes thinner and dryer as you age. Dry skin looks dull, flaky and exaggerates the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

An extract from the Resurrection Plant drenches the skin with intense moisturisation to combat the harsh ageing effects of dry skin. This amazing extract has been clinically proven to provide up to 24 hr moisturisation and has been shown to provide powerful anti-oxidant properties, enhancing the skin’s ability to combat environmental damage.

Peptides from Okuru and Sweet Pea combine to target the appearance of expression lines and skin firmness. The Resurrection Plant (Myrothamnus flabellifolia) has been able to adapt to thrive in very harsh conditions in Southern Africa. This adaptation has allowed the plant to protect itself from the Sun’s radiation, wind and dryness allowing it to survive where most plants would have perished. Scientists have discovered that an extract of the plant protects our skin in a similar way. Their trials have shown that the extract drenches skin with up to 24 hour moisturisation, and is a powerful anti-oxidant, protecting the skin from harsh environmental damage.

Couple of months ago I came across this set from Myer. It cost as much as night cream but also had samples of other products. Knowing that Myer has good return policy in case I react to it I got this set straight away.
The set came with samples of eye cream, day cream, cleanser and cleansing cloth. Other products are great too. Day cream is a bit rich for my liking and does break me out a bit (probably due to sunsceen). Eye cream is great and probably will last me for ages because I don't use it very often. Cleanser removes make-up well, but doesn't foam up (it is more of cream cleanser). All products have gorgeous floral scent!
I must say that I am very happy with the night cream! It smells beautiful, doesn't feel heavy and doesn't break me out! I love hygienic pump bottle. It is plastic so I can easily take it with me anywhere I go.

I've been using it for about 8-10 weeks and loving it so far. I don't think it made a huge difference to fine wrinkles I had on my forehead and neck so don't expect miracles from this cream. However I like using it and will re-purchase it again.

David Jones S/S '12 Deluxe Sampler Tote

David Jones released another Beauty Book Recently. I love browsing through them because quite often they have very good offers and GWP. It was very hard to resist fair few things but I ended up getting their Deluze Sampler Tote. I finished 10 products recently so I decided to reward myself (I'll do another project 10 pan soon).

I got them in the past and thought they were excellent. They usually have a selection of full size and deluxe sample size product that they stock. They are always a great value for money and a good way to try various shower gels, hand creams and lip balms.

So this particular lot came in this very cute and summery canvas tote
someone is always curious to see what I brought home :)
it contained 8 items valued over $100
 1. David Jones Men's Hair & Body Shampoo 125 ml.
This product smells really nice (like good guys perfume). My other half will be more than happy to use it!
 2. Natio Body Butter 100 g (F/S)
This body butter smells amazing! The scent (Jasmine) reminds me of Thailand and brings lots of good memories. It is not very rich or oily like a lot of other body butters which is a big plus for me!
 3. Crabtree and Evelyn India Hicks Hand Cream 25 g.
I like C&E hand creams, they are moisturising, non-greasy and have nice scents. I go through hand creams like there is no tomorrow so this one already found a place in my desk drawer.
 4. David Jones Foundation Brush.
I actually prefer to use my fingers rather than brush because I believe it is more convenient and hygienic.
 5. Dermatologica Gentle Cream Exfoliator 22 ml.
I've heard a lot of good things about Dermatologica product but never tested them properly. This exfoliator is diffirent to the ones I am used to. This one doesn't have any abrasive beads and you suppose to apply a thin layer on your face and leave it for 10-15 min like a face mask. It is suitable for most skin types. I'm interested to see how effective it is.
 6. Grown Vitamin & Watermelon Lip Balm 6ml.
I love Grown products. Not only they are made from Organic ingredients they also don't contain and harsh or nasty chemicals that some people might be sensitive to. All Grown products that I've tried are very good quality and smell amazing. This lip balm is no exception. It has mild scent, no colour and very slight shine. It feels light but moisturising on my lips.
 7. OPI mini nail polish.
I think this one is from Texas Collection (Do you think I'm Tex-y). This deep fuchsia pink will look great on my toes
8. The Aromatherapy Co Sleep  pulse points Roll-on.
Contains a blend of essential oils that suppose to relax you and make you fall asleep. I'll keep this one in my bedside drawer.
