New and improved Carindale shopping centre

Carindale Shopping Centre has been recently renovated. They introduced a lot of new stores and upgraded existing stores. I was particularly excited about Forever New (even though it has been going downhill), Swarovski, L'Occitane, Temt and T2. Plus some great food outlets like Hanaichi, Wagamama and Chocolate Pavillion!


Myer also had some major renovations. They have MAC now!

I've accumulated 6 empty product so I took them there and exchanged them for a lipstick in Russian Red. I've been lemming bright lipstick for quite sometime now.
 This red is gorgeous, it is very deep and has matte finish.

I initially wanted to get Vegas Volt or Girl About Town but they were completely sold out. SA told me that all their bright colours were gone except for Russian Red.

I was researching bright lipsticks and found out that US has much better range of "drugstore" make-up than we do. For example in US Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick comes in whopping 68 shades, here we only get 44. In particular I wanted Fuchsia Fever but it is not sold here :( Unfair!

Myer also had mega sale on clothes (40% off full priced items) however lines were ridiculous and nothing really caught my eye.

Then I went to Priceline to see if they have new Revlon Lip Butters but was told that they are completely sold out. They had 2-for-1 offer for Revlon lip and nail products plus if you spent over $60 you could pick up a bag of goodies. I couldn't find anything I really needed so I walked away (yay!)

On the up side I only spent $5 on Coke Zero and Bamboo Charcoal Bun from Bread Top. It looks very strange but it supposed to be good for you and it is very yum.
I finishes my Saturday by watching Attack the Block with my friends and drinking Riccadonna. I liked that movie, it was British and funny :)

Buyers Beware - Fake OPI nail polish!

Fake anything especially make-up makes me very angry! Yesterday I was browsing Ebay because I wanted to get some OPI nail polishes and came across few clearly fake ones. I got few OPIs from Ebay and never had an issue. Mine came from US sellers who charged US retail prices for their polishes. They sold lots and lots of them and seemed to specialize in nail products. Yesterday I came across few lots of "OPI" nail polishes. I saw fair dew lots from sellers who don't particularly specialize in nail products. They were "factory seconds" and were missing a label. The shades were very random and I never saw those shades in OPI collections. However I know that some counterfeit OPIs will have a lable with colour name on it. I had my Tragus pierced today!

It is something I wanted to do for few week now. I always liked the look of multiple earrings and even pierced a second hole in my ear when I was 11 (which then I took out and it eventually healed). Tragus piercing to me looked very appealing but painful. However after speaking to few people who had it done I realised it doesn't seem to be as bad. Today I summoned my courage and called Cosmetics Plus at Carindale. They told me to come in as Fridays are usually not very busy. I've applied plenty of EMLA numbing cream on the area 30 min before (however I was told it is best to apply it 45 to 60 min prior). The whole process took 10 minutes and set me back $35 including the earring.     The girl who did my piercing was very nice and friendly.
