Mid-year sales can be very tempting. I find that they are much better than Boxing Day sales. Lots of places are offering discounts on sale and full priced items.  I am going overseas in three weeks and I know I should be saving more but I couldn't resits few things recently. So here is what I got in the last 6 weeks. Country Road  Lace Top .. .RRP $129.95, paid $49.90  I got it from DFO outlet, it was faulty because it had a bit of make-up on the collar. The issue was easily fixed by soaking it in Napisan, then hand-washing it. I was looking for a top like that for quite sometime.    Sequined Yoke Shirt .. .RRP $149.95...paid $49.90 Got it from DFO as well, it has one missing sequin :) I got rid of my other CR white shirt and feel like this is a better version because it is more fitted.   Micro Check Pants...RRP $129.95..paid $49.90 Also purchased from DFO, they had one belt loop detached, t...

My favourite Autumn/Winter scents

Image
The weather here in Brisbane has officially changed couple of weeks ago. Bye bye shorts and floaty dresses, hello long sleeves and pants...my fragrance choices changes as well. I tend to wear heavier and warmer scents. So here are my favorites. 1. With Love...by Hilary Duff I am not a fan of celebrity fragrances but I fell in love with this one when I received a sample. It only cost me $30 for a huge 100ml bottle but it doesn't smell cheap at all and has good lasting power. On me it smells like spiced vanilla pear! I often get asked which perfume I am wearing when I spray myself with "With Love". I tend to wear it a lot during the day. 2. Chantal Thomass for women Once again I fell in love with this sexy scent after trying a sample. I would never pick the bottle up myself to test it because it is a bit tacky for my liking but it hides a gorgeous and sexy fruity-floral fragrance that my husband goes ga-ga for :) The composition is complicated but it so...

The day before our wedding...

Image
I am now happily married and my wedding was a success. I'll do few blog entered about my Big Day but I'll start with prequel :) The week before my wedding was one of the most stressful weeks I've had lately. I had to organise lots of little things like sitting charts, table name tags and confirm times with everyone involved. I decided to work two days that week and really regret that decision, lots of work was dumped on me and I had few shitty clients which all added to my stress. I was a wreck on Thursday because everything needed to be done by Friday.  To top it all off I had a hiccup with a florist. I got a quote from them over 6 months ago and was prepared to pay a deposit but they lost my file and told me that they will get in touch once they find it. I never heard from them so I decided to go with someone more reliable. Anyway that "lost" florist called me on Thursday telling me that my flowers arrived and asked me to pick them up. I was...

Only 2 weeks to go...

I can't believe how fast last few months flew past. In two weeks time I'll be celebrating our wedding!  I feel like I have most things organised by now so it is just last minute bits and pieces that I have to do. I am very glad that this weekend is a long weekend! I started my day at Oscar Oscar hairdresser in the city.    My appointment was pre-booked 8 weeks ahead. I walked in at 9 and walked out at 12 30, the service was wonderful but I nearly fell asleep. I had full head of foils and a haircut done. I never walked out disappointed, I get done what I want there :) I think it is a bit pricey to go there for routine maintenance but I don't mind spending more if i want something special. My next mission was to find a perfect pair of earrings to wear at my wedding. Myer had absolutely nothing exciting. David Jones had few nice designer pieces but nothing ...

Project 10 pan...Jan - March'13

I finished another lot of 10 items. It is good to see that I am making some sort of progress, I even had to buy a foaming cleaner because I had none left! 1. Dior Skinflash Concealer/Highlighter  I love this add with Monica Bellucci, her make-up is flawless here   My overall impression - The packaging was gorgeous (silver metal tube with Dior signature plus it came with silk pouch). The product itself was very similar to other pen highlighters like YSL Touche Eclat. It is good for subtle concealing and highlighting but it won't hide major imperfections. Would I buy it again? - Yes, I am slowly becoming a fan of very light, barely-there make-up 2. Elizabeth Ardent Green Tea Shower Gel 200ml     My overall impression - Beautifully scented and refreshing shower gel that complements my beloved Green Tea Skin Scent. I picked it up in a set with 100ml Green Tea fragrance, 5ml mini plus 200ml body lotion for...

A lot of shops seem to be having mid-season sales ATM. So I finally gave in and went shopping. I had few things on my wishlist and needed few basics so I ended up getting... 1. WITCHERY Amy Nude Pumps...RRP$149.95...paid $63.96  Witchery currently has 20% off already reduced items. I really wanted these shoes when they were just got reduced to $99.95. However I saw many pairs in store and decided to wait...Then price came donw to $79.95 and with 20% off I ended up paying less than half of RRP! I love them! They will go with almost anything, wide heel makes them very comfortable and patent leather wears a lot better than regular leather. I always had a good luck with Witchery shoes and been buying them for years. 2. COUNTRY ROAD  Country Road has 25% off already reduced items.    Drop Shoulder T-Shirt RRP$49.95...paid $14.96 Basic loose-fitting semi-sheer tee. It is made from linen blend fabric so it flows nicely. I see myself wearing it a lo...
