Marie Claire The Parcel - Winter '17 (Final Edition)

Image
About a month before I got this parcel I've received an email saying they will no longer have that service. I felt a bit sad because I like the frequency of the parcels and the content was good too. I suppose if it didn't make them much money it was time to pull the plug. So this is what I got in my last parcel...   1. QV Hand cream...value $6 Gentle, simple and unscented hand cream that does a good job at relieving dry hands. I don't think its easy to find unscented hand cream these days so its a perfect option for those who don't like everything smelling like roses etc. It also absorbed really fast so I would definitely put it in my work drawer. 2. Revlon Uniq One Hair Treatment...value $29.95 I haven't seen this product before, maybe because on the box it says its a salon-only product. It is a leave-in treatment that supposed to repair hair, add shine, volume, make styling easier, act as a heat protector and make hair smoother. I like products that sav...

Marie Clare The Parcel - Summer '16

Image
I was very impressed with the early delivery of The Parcel this time round. It is all about summer and has everything to make you more tanned, protect you from the sun, rehydrate your hair and get rid of the unwanted body hair. Upon closer inspection "Chemist Warehouse" came to mind as the majority of the brands on offer can be found at the discount pharmacies and Priceline. Nevertheless I am keen to try them out. 1. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturiser...$10.99 This product caught my eye the other day when I was browsing my local supermarket. It is a gradual tanner that supposed to keep your skin nicely moisturised and not have that fake tan smell. To me it smells very similar to Dove gradual tanner, lets just hope that the formula gets absorbed nicely unlike Dove that likes to sit on my skin. 2. Avene Micellar Lotion...$30.95 I get a new bottle of Micellar water in nearly every box which I don't mind as I do use it (takes me ages to go through a bottle ...

The Parcel by Marie Claire...Spring'16

Image
A week after my delayed Winter parcel I got my hands on the Spring'16 edition. From the first glance I knew I was going to like it. It contains a lot of goodies to prepare you for the coming warmer season and achieve that glowing bronzed skin, revive hair after winter and inspire you to get a new scent. So here is what I got... 1. Essano Argain Oil Shampoo and Conditioner...value$15.99 They are 50 mls each so they are perfect for a prolonged overseas trip or enough for you to try out the product. They are supposed to be professional quality but at the same time they don't contain any "harmful chemicals". 2. St Tropez Tanning Glove...value $11.99 Tanning gloves changed my world! No more stained hands and patchy application. I will definitely use this one a lot once my current tanning glove dies. 3. St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse...value $12.50 Cult tanning foam that has been around for many many years. This one is supposed to have new scent. I love t...

Marie Clare The Parcel...Winter 2016 (finally)

Image
My review for winter edition of The Parcel was long overdue. No, I haven't been slack, in fact I only received it the other day after writing them several emails and making inquiries at my local post office. Turns out it was delivered to a completely wrong person who signed for it. I was initially told to chase it myself but it resulted in nothing. So I have demanded a tracking number for my spring parcel outlining the whole situation and finally got an apology and the parcel was delivered to me.  My initial thought when I opened this box was "Priceline's finest selection". I don't have anything against Priceline, in fact I love getting some products from them but this is supposed to be a higher end box and I can't see any high-end products in here. 1. Colgate Optic White Toothpaste...value $2.50 I work in a dental office so I get the abundance of samples. Plus I know that this products doesn't really work and is likely to make my teeth se...

Marie Claire The Parcel - Autumn '16

Image
Couple of week ago I got an email advising me that I can go and pick up my parcel from Marie Claire. I went there with my card but instead was handed a huge parcel from The Catch of the Day. I never shop with them so I've suspected that something went wrong. It turned out that the sticker from my parcel peeled off at the warehouse and got stuck to the wrong parcel and mine was apparently sitting at the warehouse without any identification. Australia Post and Marie Claire were contacted, few days later I was informed that the new parcel will be mailed to me and today it was waiting for me in my letterbox. I am so glad I received this parcel because I love every single thing! 1. Gilded Cage Unleashed Lipstick in 117...value $40 Luxury orange red lipstick that comes in a gorgeous dark green container and it is made in Italy! I don't tend to spend a lot of money on lipsticks so I love the fact that I will get to try a premium product that I probably wouldn't buy myself....

Marie Claire The Parcel - Spring 2015, Special Anniversary Edition

Image
I was impatiently expecting my MC parcel arrive in early September but it was delivered to me only few days ago. I was particularly excited about this one as it is a special 20th Anniversary edition. So this is what I got... 1. Redwin Coconut Balm - value $5.99 I love the original PawPaw Ointment and keep coming back to it after trying other alternatives. However I am keen to give this product a shot. It basically has lots and lots of various oils plus a bit of beeswax. 2. Frizz Ease Smooth Start Shampoo and conditioner - value $32 I find John Freida products is somewhere in-between your stock standard supermarket brands and higher-end professional products. I know that this particular line been around for a long long time so they must me doing something right. As a bonus it smells very nice and has creamy consistency. Hopefully my fine blonde hair likes it too. 3. MOR Rosa Noir Hand and Body Milk - value $5 I prefer milk consistency of body products in summer as it is a...

Marie Claire The Parcel...Winter 2015

Image
Last week I received an email from Marie Claire notifying me that my parcel has been dispatched so sure enough I had a card waiting for me at home. So I walked couple of kilometers to the post office to pick it up (I really enjoyed my walk the the weather was glorious, another positive of not having a car right now). So this is what I got: 1. John Frieda Beach Blonde Shampoo, Conditioner and Sea Salt spray, trial size...value $7.50 I thought it was a bit strange to include summer range of hair products into this pack but I guess it brings nice memories of the beach. I will probably hold off using it until summer months as I prefer to use richer and more moisturizing hair products in winter. However I do love the smell of these, shampoo and conditioner have clean marine scent and sea salt spray smells like vanilla and coconut. 2. Neutrogena Hydro Boost mask x 3...value $15 I can see myself soaking in the bath with oil, wearing this mask and ...

Marie Claire The Parcel...Autumn 2015

Image
I picked up my Marie Claire parcel the other day . It 8 items, of which 3 were luxury trial sized products, and 5 full sized mass - market products.  1. Garnier Miracle Skin Cream. Full size, value $19.95 Looks greenish white in a tube but transforms into beige once applied to skin. Supposed to have anti-aging and brightening properties and has barely-there coverage. I am a bit wary of anti-aging products as they tend to be a bit too rich for my skin plus I would prefer something with a bit more coverage so I will give this one away to my mum. 2. Rimmel BB Cream Radiance. Full size, value $12.95 Not sure why they decided to include two somewhat similar products in the same parcel...but I like this one better. I am actually wearing it right now. It  looked quite grey when it first came out of the tube but then it adjusted to my skin tone nicely. I got medium and usually I go for light but it seems to look nice and natural on me. It is perfect fo...

July 2014 Bellabox

Image
I rarely get a day off on Thursday but I was lucky enough to get today off. Sometimes I really need to stay at home by-myself...doing whatever I want, listening to favorite embarrassing music and watching TV shows. Today I also got not one but three parcels in the mail and one of them was July Bellabox. It certainly wasn't as impressive as last lot but I will still use the majority of the products. The these was American Beauty but I must admit it didn't translate into the content of the box. So here is what I got 1. Urban Rituelle Island Citrus Body Scrub 100 ml- value $14.95 I was relieved to see that I scored a body scrub instead of body cream (I have more that enough to last me for ages). It smells like citrus and coconuts and has medium sized salt-like granules. It also contains coconut oil so it will be great for winter but a no-no before fake tanning as oils can affect the application. 2. ModelCo Black Eye Pencil - value $18.00 I am not a big fan of Modelco...

June 2014 BellaBox

Image
I haven't received any beauty boxes for quite sometime so I decided to sign up for one this month because they had really good promo on FB ($10 inc. postage)   These boxes can be hit and miss but this one is definitely impressive It came with InStyle magazine worth $9.95 which is a nice bonus and it gives me a good excuse to have a bath and detox my brain.  1. Herbal Essences Naked Shine Shampoo and Conditioner - value $2 Apparently silicone and paraben free plus they have nice neutral smell...I don't usually use supermarket shampoos but these will be great for my gym bag. 2. Kora Organics Hydrating Mask - value $49.95 I was stoked to receive this famous full-sized product. I currently don't have a moisturizing face mask and my skin is on the dry side so it definitely arrived at a right time. 3. Mary Kay at play eye trio - value $18.00 Looks nice but I don't often wear colours like these so will be giving it away. 4. L'Oreal Base Mag...

Bellabox November 2013

Image
This month Bellabox arrived a bit later than usual (I got mine yesterday).  The theme of this month is "Refreshing Beauty". I though it would be a bit more Christmas-y since we are less than month away now.  There was four skincare items 1. Puretan Purebronze Light-Medium Lotion 15 ml (value $2.25) I like small tubes of self-tanner because they are great for holidays. This one is tinted and has very nice scent plus you have to wash it off in one hour. 2. Wilde Organics E'Lustrous Shea (value $4) I gather it is a body butter. It is meant to be all organic and natural but I am not a huge fan. a) The scent is not the most pleasant and I like my products to smell nice...and b)RRP $40 for 150 ml? I can get some organic shea and coconut oil from health food store and make my own for way less. I can see myself using it on my feet and elbows. 3. Indio SOS Gel - Redness Rescue (value $14.40) I don't really suffer from excessive redness. I only get rosy cheeks ...

Bellabox October 2013

Image
Yes, I've signed up to Bellabox again. It was fun to receive a parcel filled with new products to try. I eventually unsubscribed because some boxes contained a lot of products I simply wouldn't use. This edition of Bellabox is their 2nd anniversary addition so I knew it would be good. Plus L'Occitane (one of my favorite skincare brands) joined them!  Here is what I got in my box: 1. Alfaparf Diamond Shampoo 60 ml and Conditioner 50 ml (value $11.60) Illiminating shampoo for normal hair that is free from Sulphates, Parabens, Parrafins, Mineral Oil, Coloring and Allergens. Comes is very generous trial size. 2. L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream 10 ml (value $2.60) I've tried this hand cream before and it is one of the best. Good handbag size. 4. Bioderma Sebum Exfoliating Gel 15 ml (value $3.75) I've heard a lot of good things about Bioderma and been recently obsessing over French skincare as I find it suits my European skin well. Plus I'm sure ...

Lust Have It June 2012

Image
Finally my Lust have it pack arrived today in the mail. The box was very plain and light and got delivered straight into my lettebox.  1+2. Lon Vitalite 24K Active Gold face mask and eye mask. RRP $59 and $45 for the pack of 5. This mask sounds very luxurious. It supposed to promote micro-circulation, repair sun damage etc. etc. you get the picture :) I just need a "me" day when I can indulge in manicures and pedicures and masks for my hair, face, eyes and body.  3. Batiste Dry Shampoo. Very cute and handy but it was done before many many times. I don't consider it as "luxury" sample as you can pick up FS for under $10.  4. Bloom Glitter Eye Liner - RRP $14.95 IMO the only full sized product in this box. It is very cute but quite impractical, I can see myself reaching for it once in a blue moon.  5. Roberto Cavalli EDP Very very heavy scent, even for winter. It is not that bad but unfortunately it gives me headache.  6. Marc Jacobs Lola EDP...

Lust Have It May 2012

Image
Yay, I received my Lust Have  It box today! When I opened the parcel I noticed very nice minty scent...it was 1. Lush "Dirty Soap". Like many other Lush products this soap smells so good! Very minty and refreshing, perfect for waking me up. 2. Evo Therapist Shampoo and Conditioner. I got a hair mask sample from this brand before and thought it was quite good. Looking forward to trying these two. 3. Nicole by OPI nail polish. This polish was easy to apply and it dried quickly. I like this fun purple colour. However it doesn't have the same shiny finish like the original OPI nail polishes. 4. ModelCo Lip Gloss in Strip Tease. This lip gloss is quite nice, I like subtle peachy pink shade. It has pleasant subtle scent, feels moisturising on lips and has attached mirror. It is full size too!!! 5. Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty EDT sample. I like that they have included a perfume sample in this lot. The scent itself is a very generic fruity floral. Some people mig...

"ILoveThisBox" April 2012

Image
"ILoveThisBox" parcel was waiting for me today! I couldn't wait to open it. It smelled lovely! My excitement grew...until I have studied the content of the box Just D'Lish candle was the best product in the box and was responsible for that lovely scent. This exfoliant smells lovely (like honey). However it contain Avocado Oil therefore may give me a breakouts. Maybelline Lipstick in My Mahogany. Very interesting shade of reddish brown. I imagine it being popular back in 1994. Unfortunately there is a reason why it stopped being popular, it is not very flattering shade. haf mineral eye shadow. This eye shadow is extremely chalky with slight shimmer. It is pretty much unusable :( Chikii bronzer. This product spilled all over my box. I am too afraid to test it because I don't want to to spill all over the place. Not the best sample presentation. I will get rid of this one too. I am very disappointed with April's box. I can only see myself usin...

"Lust Have It" April 2012

Image
Today I received Lust Have It beauty box. April doesn't seem to have a clear theme, except they have mentioned that this Autumn makeup is going to be metallic. This month everything was inside this neat case.  1. INuovi Glitter pigment in Blonde RRP$19.95 The only "metallic" item they had in this pack was this gorgeous glitter pigment. It is holographic so it is very eye catching. 2. EmerginC Kombucha Cleanser and Phytocell cream samples ~$15 A lot of brands seem to be jumping on Organic bandwagon, however I'm still keep to try these. Kombucha cleanser reminded me of this post that I saw this morning http://www.regretsy.com/2012/04/18/do-you-take-this-old-lady/ and I couldn't help but laugh 3. DeLorenzo Elements Ocean Mist Sea Salt Styling Spray RRP$23.95 A Star product of this box! It smell divine, has natural UV protection and has conditioning ingredients. I tend to keep my hair more styled and classic during cooler months so I would get more ...

Lust Have It - March 2012

Image
I've re-subscribed to Lust Have It and to my (pleasant) surprise they sent me March pack! It had 5 products in it, 4 of them were full size! 1. Karpati The Dito nail polish in Fuchsia Breeze, RRP&19.95 Great formula, very unique bottle that is easy to hold when you are painting your nails, free from harmful chemicals, Australian Owned brand. Very classic shade of red with Fuchsia undertones. Great colour but unfortunately I already have similar shades in my collection. 2. Davroe Moisture Senses Argan Oil, 50 ml RRP $23.95 This hair treatment as promised absorbs easily and feels weightless providing you apply correct amount. It has very mild and very pleasant fragrance and great for reviving the ends of my hair. Definitely a keeper. I already have Moroccan Oil however this one is better for travelling and carrying around as it comes in pump bottle. 3. 1Skin Solutions Lip Balm in Vanilla, 5g RRP $9.90 Very generic but nice lip balm. Feels good on my lips, contains ...
