April '18 empties...

Image
April was very fruitful when it came to empties and as a result my drawers are looking a lot better. 1. Wella Hydrate Mask My overall impression - I was recommended this hair mask few years ago when my hair was long, blonde, brittle and dry. I needed a non-bias advice so I went to the shop that had many professional brands. It saw instant results and haven't looked back. It infuses my hair with a lot of needed moisture yet it doesn't weight it down (fine and straight). Would I buy it again? - Yes, this is my 4th or 5th jar. 2. Petitfee Gold Hydrogel Eye Patches   My overall impression - This was my first lot of Korean gel eye patches and I really liked them. I saw good reviews on iHerb and was sold. It fits under my under eye area perfectly and feels very nice and soothing. You do have to use them up withing three months otherwise the serum they are infused with is going to dry out. Would I buy them again? - Yes, they didn't cost much but moisturis...

Recent make-up empties

It just dawned on me that I haven't done empties in a long, long time and in fact I have finished a lot of products in the last few months. So it time I will do them by category. These what have been emptied in my make-up stash...   1. Gurlain Noir G Mascara mini   My overall impression - Look at that stunning packaging! My mini version came in a plain tube but the actual product was very good. Probably not as good as some other mascaras out there but it still gave me long and well-coated lashes. Would I buy it again? While I did like the formula I don't think i could justify splurging $66 on a mascara even though it comes in the most beautiful case. 2. Buxom Lash Mascara mini   My overall impression - Wow that brush is huge and stiff! It felt very scratchy against the gentle skin of eyelids but coated lashes well and gave them separation. Would I buy it again? Nope, don't like the applicator. 3. Clarins Instant Light Lip Gloss mini   M...

May-August '15 empties

I actually finished 20 item in the last three months and threw away a huge bag of lip glosses and lipsticks that I haven't used for a while and figured out won't have an urge to use in the future. I am happy with a small selection of lipsticks, few lip glosses and few lip balm floating around my bags and drawers. I also went on few trips so it helped me to finish few travel-sized products I had stashed away.   1. L'Occitane Verbena shower gel (travel size) My overall impression - Thick clear shower gel that foams up nicely. Oh and the scent is gorgeous, I actually prefer it to the perfume version. Would I buy it again? - I wouldn't say no to it if I got it as a GWP or on sale but I probably wouldn't pay full price for this product. After all it's a shower gel and they all tend to be more or less similar.   2. Klorane dry shampoo My overall impression - As you may know I am a big fan of this dry shampoo. It has subtle scent, give...

  1. Benefit They're Real Mascara My overall impression - I got this mascara as a part of my Sephora set I picked up in US. It had one of those new plastic brushes and claimed to transform your eye lashes into something that resembles false lashes. I found the brush to be very stiff and "scratchy" and got very stiff spider legs look. Would I buy it again? - No, even though it gave me decent length the lack in volume department was a deal breaker for me. Plus I want my mascara to make my lashes soft and plush.   2. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Hair Mist My overall impression - Well balanced fragrance, neither too sweet or floral. Just clean, modern and pretty. It has a good balance of citrus, rose and patchouli notes mellowed by vanilla. I would wear it when I wanted to smell good but not too overpowering. Love the frosted bottle with square lid too. Would I buy it again? Yes, it served me well! I got this hair mist in 2010 because I loved C...

...and another empties lot

Yay! Finished another lot of products. Soon I will be able to utilize all those occupied drawers with something more useful like gym clothes or singlets so it is better organized. My dream is to fit all my make-up and beauty products in my bathroom and only buy them when I finish the old ones. With current unfavourable exchange rate online shopping is not very tempting. So it makes it easier not to accumulate a stash of products purchased during flash sales. 1. Bioderma Exfoliating purifying gel My overall impression - foaming cleanser with fine particles that will cleanse and exfoliate in one step. Gentle enough for daily use but not that great for make-up removal so it is better used in the morning. Would I buy it again? - yes, I think it help to keep my breakouts under control. 2. Biotherm Aquasource moisturizer My overall impression - gel-like cooling moisturiser with the signature marine Biotherm scent. It did take a bit longer for my liking to sink in but...

Another lot of 10 beauty related items was finished by me since February plus I threw away a huge bag of expired and old make-up and skincare. I have been good and haven't really purchased anything apart from perfume. 1. L'Occitane Essence Sublime  My overall opinion - Pleasant serum with semi-matte finish and gorgeous subtle floral scent that instantly absorbed into my skin and make it velvety and soft. It came in my glass pump bottle and I used it very quickly (mainly as a make-up base). Would I buy it again?- Yes, I was very impressed and it suits my skin well. 2. Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation My overall opinion - Creamy foundation with medium coverage and natural radiant finish. Would I buy it again?-Not sure. While I like the finish, texture and how it felt on my skin the lasting power wasn't that great. 3. Vichy Normaderm Micellar Water My overall opinion -I remember when I first used it I was surpr...
