Grown Organic Skincare

Image
This week I finally got my Grown Organic skincare that I've oredered from Ozsale over two weeks ago. I don't usually care if my skincare is organic or not but I fell in love with Grown products when I came across them at David Jones. So I was very excited when I saw them on sale! Matte Balancing Facial Moisturiser with Acai-Berry & Borago  It feels great on my skin! This cream sinks in fast and doesn't leave shiny or oily finish. It also supposed to make my skin more balanced, clear and radiant . Just what I need for summer as it can get quite oily. Vanilla & Orange Peel Hand Cream. My co-worker was raving about this product. I ordered huge 500 ml bottle because I go through hand creams a lot. It instantly makes my skin velvety soft and sink in quickly. It smells delicious but subtle. Sweet Orange, Cedarwood & Sage Hand Wash It has very interesting "woody" scent but I love how it contains ...

Chanel Hydramax + Active Gel Creme

Image
I wanted to try Chanel Skincare for quite sometime now. Few weeks ago I finally purchased Chanel Hydramax + Active Gel Cream. This moisturiser was quite pricey but I love it!   Packaging: This cream is presented in a chic frosted container with black lid which features Chanel logo. It also came with a little spatula so you don't have to dip your fingers into the cream thus preventing contamination. I t looks great on my vanity table however it is not the quickest and easiest way to apply moisturiser. I think I still prefer pump bottles.   Product: It is a semi-translucent gel cream that feel light on your skin. Unlike a lot of other gel creams it doesn't leave a film on your skin. I've been using it for about two weeks now and my skin looks very good. It doesn't break me out at all which is a huge plus in my books. It is perfect to use under foundation as it fully sinks into your skin preventing your make-up from sliding off. It doesn't have SPF but I pref...

Essie Sale and Espresso Martini

Image
www.ozsale.com.au is having Essie sale ATM! I love their nail polishes, haven't encountered a bad one yet. They come in very nice and wearable shades and various finishes from sheer to pastes, from cream to pearl! I love their sets of four miniatures. They are 5 ml which is a bit less that a half of full size Essie nail polish and unlike OPI minis they come with decent brush. I've placed an order for top and base coat set, cuticle oil, four full size nail polishes and one mini set of four. Can't wait to play with them! I love cocktails but I've been trying to save my money lately for the upcoming wedding so I can't enjoy them whe I am out as much as I would like to :( I have been learning how to make my own cocktails and they all turned out pretty good so far. Today I decided to make an Espresso Martini. There are fair few variations to the recepie of this cocktail but I've made mine using 100ml of black coffee, 30ml of Original Bailey's, 30 ml of ...

Project 10 Pan no.2...part 2

Image
Sorry it took me so long to find time a write a second part of my recent project 10 pan . 1. Clinique Moisture Surge Gel Creme 50 ml (full size)  My overall impression- light unscented oil-free gel-creme. It didn't break me out which is a big bonus. However it wasn't moisturising enough when my skin was extra dry during cooler months. Due to gel texture it leaves slight film on your skin which might be an issue for some people. It was great to use under foundation as it didn't react with it nor made it slide off. Would I buy it again? - possibly, if I don't find a perfect moisturiser that suits my skin and absorbs fully. 2. The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes My overall impression - I was intrigued to try anti-bacterial wipes hoping it will control my breakouts. I picked them up at the airport when I was in transit (I really needed something "cleansing"). They leave my skin refreshed but don't remove mascara as well as my usual Nivea wipes...

Project 10 pan no.2...part 1

Image
Yay, I finished another 10 items from my huge skincare, hair care and make-up range. It feels like I am getting closer to having a manageable collection. So in about 8 weeks I finished 10 items, some were full size, some generous trial size. 1. Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion  (Full Size 250 ml) My overall impression - Nivea makes great low-cost skincare products. They are not the best out there but they are the best in their category. This body lotion moisturised well and had pleasant typical Nivea scent. On the downside it did leave flight film on my skin, scent was a bit strong and it wasn't as "luxurious" as some more expensive body lotions. Would I buy it again? - Maybe, particularly if I need to get inexpensive body moisturiser that's available from almost any chemist and supermarket 2. Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleaser (Full Size)  My overall impression - This is my favourite foaming cleanser. I've tried and tested various other cleansers but ...

Lapurete Skincare

Image
I was browsing skincare at my local Terry White Chemist few months ago while waiting for my script. I came across a new skincare range called Lapurete. Very cool pump bottle grabbed my attention and I tested their night cream on the back of my hand. Oh my...it smelled so good (subtle rose + floral scent), it felt even better. However I already had a night cream so I had to wait until it is gone. This range is marketed as anti-aging and supposed to be "Nature's Botox Alternative". I don't normally use anti-aging products because they are too rich for me and usually break me out (combination skin). I also have no major issues with wrinkles but would like to use something for prevention as I am in my mid-to-late 20's. This product seemed to have lots of natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals like parabens and petrochemicals. It is described by Lapurete as: " Minimises the appearance of: Dry skin, sagging skin, skin roughness, dull co...

David Jones S/S '12 Deluxe Sampler Tote

Image
David Jones released another  Beauty Book Recently. I love browsing through them because quite often they have very good offers and GWP. It was very hard to resist fair few things but I ended up getting their Deluze Sampler Tote. I finished 10 products recently so I decided to reward myself (I'll do another project 10 pan soon).  I got them in the past and thought they were excellent. They usually have a selection of full size and deluxe sample size product that they stock. They are always a great value for money and a good way to try various shower gels, hand creams and lip balms. So this particular lot came in this very cute and summery canvas tote  someone is always curious to see what I brought home :)  it contained 8 items valued over $100  1. David Jones Men's Hair & Body Shampoo 125 ml. This product smells really nice (like good guys perfume). My other half will be more than happy to use it!  2. Natio Body Butter 100 g (F/S)...
